Beat the Status Quo and Discover Who Your Truly Are

“To live is to choose. But to choose well, you must first know who you are and what you stand for, where you want to go and why you want to get there.”
- Kofi Annan

There is a quiet revolution going on in the female economy, has anyone noticed?

Women are the largest emerging market in the world. Over the next decade, we will have enormous influence over business, politics, sport and society.

Times have changed and the world is changing at an uncontrollable pace. Some women will resist this change, others will be dragged into it kicking and screaming, and others will embrace it.

I want you to be one of those who embrace it. The first step is to assess your current position and identify what might be keeping you stuck.

Dreaming is the visual roadmap to having the life you want.

What does your dream life look like? What vision do you have for the future? Which aspects of your life are the most important?
Having clear boundaries to protect what matters most is crucial to keeping yourself protected and maintaining a clear vision.

What does success look like to you in your personal and professional life?

Who’s getting in the way? Are there people in your life who hamper your ability to change? Identify those people and consider the boundaries you might need to enforce for them.

What wellbeing strategies do you need to thrive? Think about what you eat, how you move, the quality of your sleep, and how you restore yourself.

Where do you need support in your life? Who can you ask for help, and what specific help do you need to ask for?

What are your energy drainers? Identify the people, places, activities, and other aspects of your life that have a negative impact on your energy: mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual. How can you address them to reduce their impact?

How often do you apologise for what you need? Notice it when it happens, and observe the impact on your energy and balance.

Discovering your true self is like coming home, so let me ask;

Who are you? Where are you in your life?

These are simple questions, but they might have complex answers. They will set up the foundation for you to embrace change and move forward with confidence.

You can answer any way you like, except by turning to the security of what you do.

You might be an executive, an entrepreneur, a business owner, a farmer, or a sales guru, but these are what you do, not who you are.

The question is really about who you are at your core – without your job, partner, career, home, car, hobbies, children, and family. Understanding this is one of the most powerful ways you can take control of what you want to achieve in life.

The answers lie within you, and give you clarity to cut through the fog and overload in your mind. They simplify the picture about who you are and what you’re trying to do with your life.

Use these questions to start the process of discovering who you are:
  • What is most important to you?
  • What are you inspired by?
  • What are you afraid of?
  • What are you just putting up with right now?
  • How do you want to be remembered by your family?
  • What do you really want?
Give yourself time to answer each question fully and authentically. Finding the answers will strengthen your self-esteem, build your confidence, and provide the framework for the rest of your journey in becoming a financially free woman.
